Marion Avril
Marion Avril is the Sustainability and Social Innovation Director of Driscoll’s Mexico. She is the founder and driving force behind the team responsible for ensuring an ethical value chain that encompasses more than 500 growers and close to 70,000 direct and indirect employees, respecting human and environmental rights.
Of French origin, she has lived in Mexico for 14 years and is a specialist in the development of highly efficient and sustainable production chains. She is an agronomist and holds two master's degrees: one in Social and Rural Development from the IRC, France, and another in Public Policy Development and Gender from the University of Barcelona, Spain. She has a CSO certificate by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston USA.
Under her responsibility, social welfare and community relations practices have been transformed and implemented throughout Mexico.
Has worked on numerous shared value projects in production chains, as well as the creation of commercial and labor markets in various countries in the Americas and Africa. She is passionate about using business as a force for social justice and biodiversity conservation and restoration.
She is currently the president of AHIFORES, a civil association that represents 80% of Mexico's fruit and vegetable exporters and focuses on standardizing practices for social responsibility in the country's agricultural sector. She is also VP of sustainability at CDAAJ, the Agricultural and Livestock Development Council of Jalisco.
