Chief Quality Officer , NATURESWEET

Lauro currently serves as Chief Quality Officer at NatureSweet, where he has spearheaded transformational initiatives that elevate quality from farm to table. He has reduced customer complaints and product waste, strengthened food safety programs, and embedded data-driven quality systems, all while cultivating a culture of excellence.

One of his most meaningful contributions was creating NatureSweet’s R&D team in 2020, founded on the belief that taste goes beyond Brix. What began as a concept has grown into a high-value organization that established the company’s sensory program and successfully launched NatureSweet’s new flagship Cherubs variety.

Before joining NatureSweet, Lauro built a strong foundation at Kellogg’s, gaining deep expertise in manufacturing, quality systems, food safety, and project management through multiple leadership roles across Mexico and Central America. He later expanded his technical and regulatory scope at Amazon LATAM, where he designed compliance strategies for high-risk food categories and led cross-border regulatory programs.

Lauro also shapes industry-wide progress as a member of the Food Safety Council at the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) and serves on IFPA’s Mexico Committee, advancing cross-border collaboration and best practices in fresh produce safety and quality.

Known for combining strategic vision, technical depth, and people-centered leadership, Lauro has a reputation for building high-performing teams and leading change with clarity and purpose. His work consistently delivers measurable business results and community impact.

Beyond his corporate career, Lauro has been a dedicated Rotarian for more than 22 years. He currently serves as President of the Rotary Club of Zapopan (2024–2025), leading social impact initiatives ranging from health campaigns to peace promotion through music, as well as international partnerships that support underserved communities.
