Jose Cacho
Veterinary doctor graduated with honours from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, postgraduate studies in Senior Management, Marketing and Business Development at ITAM, with more than 30 years of experience in agribusiness, he has held various management positions in sales, operations, administration, marketing and general management.
He has been president of the National Chamber of Industrialised Corn for three terms, was treasurer and secretary of the National Agricultural Council, and has participated in various projects to promote the implementation of public policies to optimise the corn value chain in Mexico. He has participated in research and analysis on the viability of biofuel production in Mexico and its impact on value chains. He is co-founder of the World Economic Forum's ‘New Vision for Agriculture’ initiative in Mexico. For two years, he was the leader of the Grain Group in Mexico for this project. He has been a participant and speaker at the B20 for Food Security, has participated as a speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and was Director General of Grupo Minsa, S.A.B. de C.V.
He is currently Executive Vice President of Grupo Empresarial G, Vice President of the National Agricultural Council, advisor to FOCIR, and advisor to the Deloitte Agribusiness Forum. He was a member of the Board of CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre) and Co-chairman of the World Economic Forum Project for a New Vision of Agriculture in Mexico ‘VIDA’. He is president of the Saber para Crecer Foundation, a foundation dedicated to caring for children and young people with disabilities.
