
Hernán Fernández
Hernán Fernández is the Managing Partner at Angel Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments with high growth potential across Latin America. Founded in 2008, Angel Ventures has launched three investment funds with nearly $100 million in assets under management, backing leading startups such as Clip, Kueski, Aprende, and Digitt. Additionally, Angel Ventures has built the largest angel investor network in the region, with chapters in Mexico, Colombia, and the U.S., fostering connections between investors and high-impact entrepreneurs.
Before founding Angel Ventures, Hernán began his career as a corporate lawyer at PwC Mexico and France, advising major corporations on mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and financing. He later worked as a strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, developing commercial strategies for various industries across Mexico and Latin America. Additionally, he collaborated with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-GSB) in New York and Paraguay, designing investment strategies for SMEs and multinational companies.
He holds a Law degree from ITAM and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Strategy. He has served as a professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at ITAM and as a board member of EPIC Lab. His expertise has been featured in multiple publications on angel investing and venture capital, with his insights cited in The Economist, CNNExpansión, and Entrepreneur.
Currently, he sits on the boards of multiple startups and continues to drive innovation and investment across Latin America.
